iOS 18.1 is available for iPhones with new Apple Intelligence features. CEO Tim Cook revealed that Apple is seeing a record adoption number of iOS 18.1, with the adoption rate doubling compared to iOS 17.1.
Apple Intelligence features are available for iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 16 lineups. Despite the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus being ineligible for AI suite, the iPhone maker is getting positive response from consumers.
iOS 18.1 update comes with first suite of Apple Intelligence features, such as Writing Tools, notification summary, and Clean Up in the Photos app. More new features and support for more languages will rollout sequentially.
According to CNBC, Cook said, “We’re getting great feedback from customers and developers already and a really early stat, which is only three days worth of data: Users are adopting iOS 18.1 at twice the rate that they adopted 17.1 in the year ago quarter.”
Apple CEO’s remark considered the first look at iOS 18.1 adoption so far. The company usually updates its software page with details related to distribution and adoption several months after update rollout.
Notably, Apple already commenced iOS 18.2 testing with Developers. A new set of Apple Intelligence features is included in the new firmware, which will be rolled out to general consumers after testing conclusion.
iOS 18.2 would bring Image Playground, Genmoji, ChatGPT integration, and more. Apple iPhone users should keep enjoying iOS 18.1 as iOS 18.2 is expected to be released in December 2024.
