Google has just detailed the December 2024 Play System update for Android devices, which brings enhancements to Google Play services, the Play Store, and Settings Services.
The December 2024 Play System update will soon be available for Android phones, tablets, Android TV, Google TV devices, Android Auto-enabled vehicles, Wear OS devices, and Chrome OS devices.
As per the release notes, the update introduces new tools for developers in Google Play Services and expands the Wallet feature to allow hotel keys, campus IDs, and corporate badges on Android wearables.
Google has also expanded the availability of its Wallet app to more countries for Android and wearable users. The Play Store update adds clearer steps for new users to complete their purchase setup.
In addition, the Settings Services update optimizes charging on phones and tablets for better energy efficiency. These updates make Android devices smarter and more efficient.
